 TRAVEL

There are several ways to arrive but once here a car is essential.

It is possible to drive through France in one day. To do this we would recommend taking an over night ferry to Caen, and then a route via Tours, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Foix, taking a military approach to any stops.
It is also possible via 'The Channel Tunnel' and motorways.
Travelling down in two days is certainly more enjoyable and offers an opportunity to see contrasting regions of France at a more leisurely pace.

For anyone short for time, or averse to much driving, investigate fly-drive options ('Easy Jet', 'Ryan Air', FlyBe, etc). To Barcelona which is two to three hours away, and a straightforward drive via the "Tunel del Cadi". Alternatively fly to Perpignan (1½hr), Toulouse or Carcassonne (2½hr). A train and then hire-car, or Motorail are other possibilities.
